Simple Design

Anyone noticed that people STILL don't try and make their sites w3c compliant? I have, these people usually design their sites with overly HUGE flash animations and images...

This really bugs me, this design for example [url][link] is written in completely valid css and xhtml, and its simple, small and nice. Sure you can make nice sites with flash, but do you have to? Does it really add anything special to your site other than slowing its load time down to the point where I am forced to click the stop button and manually display the real images? Not that I know of, No.

Does anyone know of a group of people who are doing something about this? Perhaps its time to form a group?
